Kortz, Gergely to host jobs hearing in McKeesport
HARRISBURG, Jan. 3 – State Reps. Marc Gergely and Bill Kortz, D-Allegheny, will host a House Democratic Policy Committee hearing on job creation in the Mon Valley from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 9 at the McKeesport Palisades, 501 Water Street, McKeesport.
Gergely and Kortz said the labor, business and economic development leaders will provide testimony about the importance of supporting job creation policies and offer ideas to expand the local and state workforce.
“This is an excellent opportunity to bring together state leaders with local officials to discuss opportunities for the business community and labor to work together to create family-sustaining jobs,” Gergely said. “Bill and I will take the ideas offered at this hearing back to Harrisburg to fight for policies that will keep jobs in the Mon Valley and bring businesses back to our area.”
“The number one thing I hear from constituents is about jobs,” Kortz said. “This is an opportunity to focus this discussion and continue our efforts to get more Pennsylvanians back to work.”
