Gergely appointed to four House committees
HARRISBURG, Feb. 4 – State Rep. Marc Gergely, D-Allegheny, has been appointed to serve on four House committees for the 2011-12 legislative session.
Gergely will serve on the following committees:
· Labor and Industry, Democratic vice chairman;
· Game and Fisheries;
· Human Services; and
· Professional Licensure.
"I look forward to working in a bipartisan fashion with my colleagues on each committee. There is much work to be done," Gergely said. "I'm honored to return as vice chairman of the House Labor and Industry Committee, which crafted several bills in the last session to help working families struggling in this economy, and we worked with the business committee to target investments that will create jobs. I look forward to continuing similar progress with the Human Services Committee and Professional Licensure Committee.
"As an avid hunter and angler, the Game and Fisheries Committee is also close to my heart. During the last session, the committee oversaw the passage of landmark laws to crack down on poaching and allow Pennsylvania to join the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact which are combining to make our forests safer for honest sportsmen."
Gergely will also serve as vice chairman of the House Democratic Policy Committee.
