Readshaw to host motorcycles at Capitol
HARRISBURG, May 2 – State Rep. Harry Readshaw, D-Allegheny, will welcome motorcyclists from around the state at the A.B.A.T.E. sponsored rally at the Capitol on Monday, May 7 at noon.
More than 1,000 motorcycle enthusiasts from around the state are expected to surround the Capitol Complex during the rally.
Readshaw’s H.R. 221, which recognizes May as Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in Pennsylvania, was unanimously adopted by the House. He will present it to the group in recognition of the safety month.
The Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education is a group which uses its strength in numbers to develop rules and regulations promoting biker safety.
"Motorcyclists are everywhere, and come from all walks of life," Readshaw said. "I have worked closely with them in support of the PA Gettysburg Monument restoration project and other fundraising events. I am honored to present them with an acknowledgment of the state’s commitment to motorcycle safety."
The rally will promote motorcycle rights and remind automobile drivers to share the road with their two-wheeled drivers.
