Kortz's office to aid seniors with income tax prep
DRAVOSBURG, Jan. 15 – State Rep. Bill Kortz, D-Allegheny, said his constituent service office in Dravosburg will soon offer free income tax preparation assistance to seniors.
"I'm proud to be able to offer this service to my older constituents," Kortz said. "Tax preparation can be confusing and costly, so I'm glad I can ease the minds of seniors who may need this help."
The assistance will be offered by the AARP Tax Aide Program. Service will begin Feb. 1 and end April 15.
Appointments must be made in advance and can be scheduled between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. During those times, trained volunteers will be available to help senior citizens with filing their federal and state income tax returns.
Kortz’s constituent service office is located at 751 Pittsburgh-McKeesport Blvd., Dravosburg. For more information, residents may call (412) 466-1940.
