Smith to host first Cyber Town Hall Meeting Feb. 9

MT. LEBANON, Feb. 1 – State Rep. Matt Smith, D-Allegheny, is holding his first Cyber Town Hall Meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9.

Internet users who wish to join in the meeting or ask questions will be able to do so by accessing Smith’s Web site at www.pahouse.com/MSmith.

"I want to give constituents more ways and opportunities to share their concerns and thoughts on state governmental issues, and this is one way to do that," Smith said. "This allows those with busy schedules to submit questions and watch the town hall live online or watch at a later date on my Web site."

This Cyber Town Hall factors into a larger initiative by the representative to continue connecting with constituents. Smith recently hosted three town hall meetings throughout the district, which includes Mt. Lebanon, Green Tree, Rosslyn Farms, Thornburg, part of Bethel Park, and part of Scott Township. Smith has also hosted town hall meetings at area senior living locations to hear from constituents who may not otherwise be able to attend the various meetings.

To log on to the town hall meeting, visit the Web site www.pahouse.com/MSmith. A link to the town hall meeting will be provided there. Participants will be able to e-mail questions to Smith prior to and throughout the cybercast.
