Kotik announces conservation and recreation grant opportunity
HARRISBURG, Feb. 13 – State Rep. Nick Kotik, D-Allegheny, is announcing a state grant opportunity for local recreation, conservation and tourism projects.
The Community Conservation Partnerships Program is administered by the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Grants are open to municipalities, recreation and park directors and boards, county and regional planning commissions, pre-qualified land trusts, and authorized nonprofit river, trail and other organizations.
"This is a great resource for programs like Rails-to-Trails, land and water conservation, and similar programs," Kotik said. "Local communities have a number of recreational and natural conservation projects with a multitude of ever-growing needs that this funding can help meet."
Kotik said a new feature to the program this year is the ability to apply online. As a part of DCNR's new eGrants initiative, applications are available at www.dcnr.state.pa.us/grants.
The application process is now open and the deadline for submission is 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 22.
