White to offer free tax assistance to senior citizens
CECIL, Jan. 29 – State Rep. Jesse White, D-Washington/Allegheny/Beaver, said a certified tax preparer will visit his constituent service offices to provide free assistance to senior citizens filing their state and federal income taxes, as well as 2007 Property Tax/Rent Rebate applications.
The tax preparer will visit each of White's three offices on specific dates from Feb. 11 through April 14. Due to a limited number of spaces, interested residents are strongly encouraged to make an appointment.
“Dealing with new tax laws and confusing forms is often difficult for seniors, especially those who cannot afford professional assistance," White said. “I’m pleased that my offices can once again provide this assistance to our senior community.”
White’s offices are located at 3855 Millers Run Road in Cecil; 1543 Main St. in Burgettstown; and 2403 Jefferson Ave., Suite 3, in Canton Township. Residents can get more information or schedule an appointment for tax preparation assistance by contacting White’s Cecil office at 724-746-3677.
