Free tax help available for Daley constituents begins in February
HARRISBURG, Jan. 26 – State Rep. Peter J. Daley, D-Washington/Fayette, is announcing that assistance in preparing state income tax returns will be available beginning Feb. 1 and continuing through April 9.
Daley said volunteers from AARP are available by appointment only to help seniors complete tax forms. This free service is by appointment only and appointments fill up fast, therefore individuals will need to call the local centers.
Volunteers will be available at the following times, dates and locations:
- 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Center on the Hill every Monday and Wednesday beginning Feb 1. To schedule an appointment, the office can be reached at 724-930-8512, and is located at 100 Summit Road, Belle Vernon.
- 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Center in the Woods every Monday through Friday beginning Feb. 1. To schedule an appointment, the office can be reached at 724-938-3554, and is located at 130 Woodland Court, Brownsville.
- 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Donora Public Library every Wednesday beginning Feb. 3. To schedule an appointment, please call 724-379-6446. The library is located at 510 Meldon Ave.
Daley said that those requiring assistance must bring all forms and booklets that they receive from the Pennsylvania Revenue Department. The forms have a personal identification number that is unique to each individual. Use of that number allows the tax return to be filed over the department’s Internet site.
