Daley announces recycling grant for Washington Township
HARRISBURG, Feb. 9 – State Rep. Peter J. Daley, D-Washington/Fayette, announced today that Washington Township will receive $48,865 in recycling grant funding from the state Department of Environmental Protection.
The funding will be used to set up a yard waste program and aid in the purchase of a collection vehicle for recyclable yard waste, including lawn clippings, grass and tree limbs.
"I commend Washington Township for their efforts to make our community cleaner and I am pleased that DEP recognized their hard work with this grant," Daley said.
Daley said the grants were awarded through the state's Recycling Development and Implementation Grant Program, which provides grants to reimburse counties and municipalities for 90 percent of eligible recycling program development and implementation expenses.
