Area seniors presented student leadership awards
HARRISBURG, June 24 -- Several area high school seniors were chosen as this year’s recipients of state Rep. Peter J. Daley’s annual Student Leadership Award.
"I am so proud to honor these emerging leaders of tomorrow," Daley said. "Their work and dedication to their education is very worthy of recognition."
Each student received a certificate and a U.S. savings bond.
The award is given to graduating seniors who have performed exemplary work as an elective member of student government and who plan on continuing their education.
This year’s recipients are:
- Erica Mokay, daughter of Lonna Mokay; Belle Vernon High School.
- Michael A. Flory, son of Rose Flory; Beth Center High School.
- Sarah Wheeler, daughter of Bridget Wheeler; Brownsville Area High School.
- Kourtney Doman, daughter of Paul and Kathy Doman; California Area High School.
- Erika Leigh Fine, daughter of Lee and Angela Fine; Charleroi High School.
- Sean Michael McCollum, son of Michael McCollum; McGuffey High School.
- Jennifer Sasko, daughter of Mary and David Sasko; Ringgold High School.
- Marissa Lucas, daughter of Andrew and Sharon Lucas; Trinity High School.
