Mahoney participates in Housing Roundtable in Fayette County
HARRISBURG, April 16 – State Rep. Tim Mahoney, D-Fayette, joined fellow legislators to participate in a countywide Housing Roundtable today at the Penn State Fayette campus.
The event included guest speakers and panel discussions on future and current housing needs in the county. Mahoney chaired one of the panels, and discussed how affordable housing is critical for people in his legislative district.
"We need more affordable housing options for people in the county," Mahoney said. "As the economic climate gets better and more jobs are created, there will be a demand for more affordable housing."
The keynote speaker for the roundtable event, which was organized by state Rep. Peter J. Daley, chairman of the House Commerce Committee, was Brian Hudson, executive director of the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency.
"By holding these roundtable discussions, legislators are getting a handle on our constituents' needs, so we can take that information to Harrisburg and work on an affordable housing plan," Mahoney said
The participants also took questions and comments from the public.
