HARRISBURG, Jan. 13 – State Rep. Joe Petrarca, D-Westmoreland/Armstrong, announced today that the Loyalhanna Watershed Association has been awarded a $12,000 grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection.
The grant will be used to fund the restoration of approximately 325 feet of flood-damaged channel along Fourmile Run in Ligonier Township in Westmoreland County.
The 298 square-mile Loyalhanna Creek Watershed is maintained by the Loyalhanna Watershed Association. Founded in 1971, the group addresses the various pollution impacts throughout the watershed and preserves natural areas.
