Petrarca: $11,800 grant awarded for Riverfront Park improvements
HARRISBURG, April 14 – State Rep. Joe Petrarca, D-Westmoreland/Armstrong, said Leechburg was recently awarded an $11,800 grant to make improvements at Riverfront Park.
The funds will be used for landscaping, sign installation and other site improvements.
"The grant will help spruce up the park and complete some maintenance activities that will add to the park’s appeal," Petrarca said.
The grant was awarded through the state’s Community Conservation Partnerships Program.
The state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources administers CCPP grants, which help provide financial and technical assistance to local governments, river and trail organizations, land trusts, and various nonprofit organizations for the planning, acquisition and development of recreation, conservation, greenways and park projects.
