Petrarca announces $96,966 in grants for Westmoreland and Armstrong counties
HARRISBURG, June 12 – State Rep. Joe Petrarca, D-Westmoreland/Armstrong, announced today that the Armstrong County Sewage Enforcement Agency will receive a $96,141 state grant to reimburse half of the county’s expenses in enforcing the state's sewage planning and permitting law.
Petrarca also announced an $825 state grant for Westmoreland County under the Recycling Performance Grant Program. The program provides incentives to help Pennsylvania communities increase the amount of materials recovered through recycling and to promote economic growth in the Commonwealth through recycling-related job creation and market expansion. The grant is based on the county’s population and the 95.9 tons of material recycled during 2006.
