Allegheny Township awarded $4,528 recycling grant
HARRISBURG, Sept. 18 – State Rep. Joe Petrarca, D-Westmoreland/Armstrong, announced that Allegheny Township was recently awarded a $4,528 grant through the state Department of Environmental Protection for its recycling performance.
The funds were awarded based on the 472 tons of material the township recycled in 2006 and its population.
The Recycling Performance Grant Program provides incentives designed to increase the amount of materials recovered through recycling statewide and to promote economic growth by creating jobs and businesses in the recycling and reuse industry.
