Rep. Petrarca announces grant for Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival

HARRISBURG, Nov. 20 – State Rep. Joe Petrarca, D-Westmoreland/Armstrong, announced today that the Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival will receive a $8,992 grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

Petrarca said the free annual celebration, which attracts more than 150,000 people each year, provides the community with the very best in exceptional visual arts, traditional crafts, educational activities and live performing artists.

"This festival does a great job in celebrating Pennsylvania's historical and living cultural heritage in a fun way that draws thousands of people back here every year," Petrarca said.

Petrarca said the 2010 Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival, which will be celebrated July 1-4, will be in its 36th year.

"That kind of staying power is rare for a festival, and it is a credit to the tremendous work done by the members of this organization," Petrarca said.
