Harhai, Stout present $350,000 in grants for Monessen initiatives
MONESSEN, March 25 – State Rep. Ted Harhai, D-Westmoreland/Fayette, and Sen. J. Barry Stout, D-46th District, recently presented $350,000 in grants for initiatives in Monessen.
"Senator Stout and I are very happy to be able to secure state grant funding for these worthwhile projects in Monessen," Harhai said. "I will always work to ensure that every municipality in the 58th Legislative District receives grant opportunities."
The lawmakers presented checks for the following projects in the City of Monessen:
- $25,000 for computers for city offices and street department equipment
- $25,000 for security cameras for city parks
- $150,000 for paving of Grand Boulevard
- $25,000 for the Jefferson Drive sewage project
- $15,000 for the Monessen Heritage Museum, Greater Monessen Historical Society
- $10,000 for equipment, Monessen Food Pantry
- $20,000 for building renovations, Monessen Community Development Corporation
- $15,000 for roof repairs, Monessen Public Library
- $15,000 for air conditioning at Elementary Center, Monessen City School District
- $50,000 for stadium renovations, Monessen City School District
