Bradford reminds students to submit 2010-11 financial aid form
HARRISBURG, Feb. 5 – State Rep. Matt Bradford, D-Montgomery, is reminding students and their families to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, as soon as possible to ensure they are considered for a variety of financial aid resources.
"I urge students and their families to complete a FAFSA form right away to ensure that they will be considered for the maximum amount of financial aid they qualify for," Bradford said. "I encourage applicants to submit their form online to further expedite the process."
Bradford said information from the FAFSA is used to determine eligibility for federal grants, the Pennsylvania State Grant program, scholarships, reduced-cost federal loans, work-study programs, and many school-based scholarships and financial aid programs. While the deadline to submit the FAFSA for most students seeking a State Grant is May 1, individual schools and scholarship programs often have earlier application deadlines.
Students and families can find more information about the FAFSA, as well as overviews, preparation worksheets and the online application, at www.PHEAA.org/FAFSA. The Web site also offers a list of information that will be needed in order to submit a complete application.
