To the editor:
A resolution (H.R. 590) I introduced to honor the late Windber Mayor Arthur R. Palumbo and offer condolences to his family was adopted unanimously by the state House on Jan. 26.
Art Palumbo was my principal in high school and, later, my friend.
He was a tireless public servant who also enjoyed a distinguished career as an educator and coach. House Resolution 590 highlights and honors his many accomplishments.
Earlier this year, Mayor Palumbo was inducted
into the Windber Hall of Fame, forever solidifying his legacy of service to his
community.
Many may have disagreed with him in his role as mayor, but one thing is undeniable – he loved Windber, his hometown, and always did what he thought was in the best interest of this community.
Sincerely,
Frank Burns
