Burns announces more than $27,000 for Cambria County

HARRISBURG, March 2 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria/Somerset, said the Cambria County Solid Waste Management Authority will receive a $27,278 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

Awarded under DEP's Recycling Performance Grant Program, the funding is based on the 3,476.1 tons recycled by the county's solid waste management authority for calendar year 2007 and the county's population.

"DEP has made yet another wise investment in our region," Burns said. "I would like to congratulate Cambria County SWMA and Executive Director Kris Howdyshell for their work to promote recycling in our region."
