Burns announces more than $31,000 for Cambria County
HARRISBURG, Dec. 13 – State Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria/Somerset, said the Cambria County Solid Waste Management Authority will receive a $31,517 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
Awarded under DEP's Recycling Performance Grant Program, the funding is based on the 3,883 tons recycled by the county's solid waste management authority for calendar year 2009 and the county's population.
"I would like to congratulate Cambria County SWMA and Executive Director Kris Howdyshell for the successes of their recycling program, which continues to grow each year," Burns said. "The success of this recycling program is proof that DEP has made wise investments in our region."
