Cambria County receives hazardous waste grant

PATTON, April 17 – State Rep. Gary Haluska, D-Cambria, announced today that a state grant has been awarded to the Cambria County Solid Waste Authority.

Haluska said the authority was awarded $4,208 as partial reimbursement for household hazardous waste collection events it held in 2007.

The authority organized several local hazardous waste collection events to help the community – particularly households and small businesses – safely dispose of dangerous waste.

The grant was provided through the Small Business and Household Pollution Prevention Grant Program, operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. The program was established by Act 190 of 1996. For more information, visit www.depweb.state.pa.us.
