Cambria County recycling program receiving $33,000 from state
PATTON, May 2 – State Rep. Gary Haluska, D-Cambria, announced that the Cambria County Solid Waste Authority has been awarded a $33,319 state grant for its recycling program.
The grant is a reimbursement for half of the county recycling coordinator's salary and expenses.
The grant was provided through the County Recycling Coordinator Grant Program, an incentive started in 1988 to encourage more recycling in communities across the state. Grants help reimburse community recycling efforts, promoting job creation and economic growth.
Pennsylvania’s recycling industry includes more than 3,240 recycling and reuse businesses, and generates $18.4 billion in gross annual sales. It provides jobs for more than 81,000 people. More information about Pennsylvania’s recycling efforts is available online at www.depweb.state.pa.us.
