Osceola Mills-area business gets boost with state loan

HARRISBURG, April 24 – State Rep. Camille "Bud" George, D-74 of Clearfield County, today said a state tourism loan will help to upgrade an Osceola Mills-area establishment to a full-service restaurant and pub.

"Holtdaddy's Pub, known formerly as Angie's Tavern, was awarded a $64,000 loan at 5 percent interest through the Small Business First program," Rep. George said. "Four full-time jobs are projected to be created through the upgrade, which fits with the area's overall tourism-promotion plan."

A limited-liability company formed by James and Robin Holt operates the establishment at 847 Drane Highway. The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved the loan application through its First Industries Fund, which supports tourism and agriculture. The application was submitted by the North Central Pa. Regional Planning and Development Commission.

Created in 2005 by Gov. Edward G. Rendell as part of his economic stimulus program, the First Industries Fund has invested more than $90 million in 433 agricultural and tourism projects. More information on economic-development programs is available on the state Department of Community and Economic Development Web site -- www.newpa.com -- or by calling (1) 866 466-3972 toll free.
