Clearfield theatre, historical society win grants

 

HARRISBURG, Aug. 4 – State Rep. Camille "Bud" George, D-74 of Clearfield County, today said that the Clearfield County Historical Society and the Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre have been approved for state grants totaling more than $10,000.

 

"The historical society and the arts studio make significant educational and artistic contributions to the region," Rep. George. "The grants should help to ensure continued successes."

 

The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission awarded a $7,500 general operating grant to the historical society, which maintains a free museum at 104 E. Pine St. in Clearfield. More information about the society and museum are available online at www.clfdhistory.org.

 

The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts approved a $2,651 grant for CAST, located at 112 E. Locust St. in Clearfield. More information about CAST programs is available by calling 765-4474.
