Hanna announces grant to revise Clinton County waste management plan
HARRISBURG, March 4 – State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, chairman of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, today announced a $43,926 state grant for Clinton County.
The county will utilize this grant to reimburse up to 80 percent of the costs incurred to revise its solid waste management plan.
"Our communities have seen a rapid increase in the volume and types of solid and hazardous waste as a result of continuous economic growth, urbanization and industrialization," Hanna said. "It is crucial that our local governments plan properly to ensure effective and sustainable management of waste, and I applaud Clinton County for taking this initiative."
The grant funds are provided by the state Department of Environmental Protection under the County Planning Grant Program of Act 101 of 1988.
