Hanna announces $3.47 million loan to improve local water service

HARRISBURG, July 14 – State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, announced that Suburban Lock Haven Water Authority will receive a $3.47 million loan from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority to finance a project to improve local water service.

The 20-year, low-interest loan will be used for the construction of 11,850 feet of water mains, a new pump station, rehabilitation of two existing pump stations and the replacement of 2,650 water meters to correct flow capacity and water pressure.

"This project will create a safer environment for area residents by improving fire protection," Hanna said.

"The two largest water customers on this system are industrial businesses that depend on an adequate water supply for their operations. These improvements will allow them to create about 46 jobs for our area."

An independent state agency, Pennvest helps to finance sewer, storm water and drinking water projects to improve the environment and public health. Projects funded by Pennvest also improve opportunities for economic growth and create jobs for Pennsylvania workers.
