Hanna: Local business receives $2 million expansion loan from state
HARRISBURG, July 15 – State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, said the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority has approved a low-interest loan to help a local business expand.
Nutek Disposables Inc., a manufacturer of
washcloths and baby wipes, will receive $2 million for the construction of a
53,000-square-foot facility in Wayne Township. The $6.8 million project will
create 15 jobs and retain 63 jobs. The Clinton County Economic Partnership is
the sponsoring economic development agency.
"The expansion will continue the extensive economic development the First Quality family of companies has brought to the area," Hanna said.
PIDA loans provide capital for infrastructure acquisition, creation and
renovation projects primarily for manufacturers, industrial developers,
research and development firms, agricultural processors, and employers looking
to establish national or regional headquarters in Pennsylvania.
Since 2003, PIDA has funded more than 400 projects with more than $390 million
in loans, creating more than 9,700 jobs and retaining more than 35,000 other
positions.
