Web site provides information on selling REAP tax credits

HARRISBURG, July 25 – State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, said the state Department of Revenue has a link on its Web site that gives in-depth information regarding the sale of Resource Enhancement and Protection credits.

The link offers information about restricted credits and requirements for sellers.

"This is a helpful resource for people who want to know more about REAP tax credits," Hanna said.

The information can be accessed online at www.revenue.state.pa.us by clicking "Corporation Taxes" on the left side of the Web page, then "Saleable Restricted Tax Credits."

REAP allows farmers and businesses to earn credits for implementing nutrient management plans, conservation plans and best-management practices to preserve the environment, increase productivity and reduce costs. The credits provide a dollar-for-dollar reduction in state income or corporate tax for 2008 or later, and are good for up to 15 years.
