Hanna: Local municipalities awarded $17,923 in sewage grants
HARRISBURG, Sept. 30 – State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, announced that several area municipalities have been awarded sewage enforcement grants totaling $17,923 through the state Department of Environmental Protection.
The following were awarded grants:
Clinton County
· Beech Creek Township, $1,710
· Lamar Township, $550
· Logan Township, $1,110
· Wayne Township, $450
Centre County
· Boggs Township, $1,471
· Haines Township, $5,627
· Liberty Township, $1,330
· Miles Township, $1,735
· Snow Shoe Township, $3,940
The grants were awarded under the Sewage Facilities Enforcement Grant program and represent a 50 percent reimbursement by the state for municipalities' costs to enforce the state's sewage laws, which require proper planning, inspection and permitting of sewage facilities and on-lot disposal systems.
