Hanna: Clinton County Sewer Authority receives $1.71 million

in state funding for local sewer project

HARRISBURG, Oct. 28 – State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, announced that the Clinton County Sewer Authority will receive $1.71 million in funding from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority.

The 20-year, low-interest loan will be used to upgrade two pumping stations, replace 4,100 feet of sewer main and slipline another 4,000 feet, reseal 80 manholes and replace 1,700 feet of laterals. The project is expected to prevent overflow at Lock Haven's wastewater treatment facilities.

"This project will prevent raw sewage overflow from contaminating local water sources," Hanna said. "It's an important project for the health and safety of area residents."

The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, or Pennvest, was established by the General Assembly in 1988. It provides low-interest loans and grants to communities for the construction of or improvements to water and wastewater collection and treatment systems.
