Penn State program receives energy efficiency funding
STATE COLLEGE, Feb. 17 – State Rep. Scott Conklin, D-Centre, announced today that Centre County will be awarded $350,000 in state funding to help advance energy efficiency in the region.
The grant, administered through the state Department of Environmental Protection, will be awarded to the Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program, or PennTAP, at Penn State University.
"PennTAP is a network of federal, state, local and university resources," Conklin said. "The program relies on technology-based economic development to help companies advance in the most cost-effective and energy efficient ways."
The funding assists the partnership in outreach and marketing, energy efficiency assessments, local training centers and project follow-ups.
"This is a great program to help our state stay on top of current technologies, stimulate our economy and create jobs," Conklin said.
