Conklin resolution honors PSU men's basketball
HARRISBURG, April 23 – Centre County state Rep. Scott Conklin announced today that his resolution (H.R. 240) honoring the Penn State University men's basketball team on its 2009 National Invitation Tournament championship was adopted unanimously by the state House on Wednesday.
"Penn State fans across the state and the country can be proud of their team's accomplishment," said Conklin. "I'm proud to have the opportunity to honor this fine organization."
Conklin said the Nittany Lions won the National Invitation Tournament on April 2, defeating Baylor University at Madison Square Garden by a score of 69-63. It is the team's second postseason title.
Conklin said the team's victory was sweetened by the presence of hundreds of Penn State fans who packed 36 buses to bring Nittany Pride to New York City.
Conklin's resolution honors the young men, their coaches, managers and the entire Penn State University men's basketball organization.
