Hanna announces $227,860 grant for local water systems HARRISBURG, Aug. 18 – State Rep. Mike Hanna, D-Clinton/Centre, announced today that the Pennsylvania Rural Water Association in Centre County will receive a $227,860 state grant from the state Department of Environmental Protection.
The grant will be used to provide technical assistance and training for staff at 15 community water systems throughout the county. Each of the systems is currently involved in a program designed to protect areas contributing water to public wells. "With this grant, employees of more than a dozen water systems will be properly trained and will receive the technical assistance that they need," Hanna said.
