Wheatley invites constituents to free Community Appreciation Day Sept. 6
Celebration is sixth annual event
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 29 – State Rep. Jake Wheatley, D-Allegheny, is once again sponsoring a free Community Appreciation Day for residents of the 19th Legislative District.
The sixth annual festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Kennard Field, located at Reed and Kirkpatrick streets in the Hill District.
The festival will include free food and entertainment, a college fair, a fraternity and sorority step-off, an animal show, a raffle, bingo and the finals of the Karaoke Idol contest, which carries a $500 grand prize.
The festival will be followed by "The People's Concert" – also free – from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the same location.

The 19th Legislative District includes part or all of these neighborhoods: the Hill District, North Side, South Side, Allentown, Hazelwood, Downtown, the Bluff, Knoxville, Beltzhoover, Manchester, Arlington, Arlington Heights, and West, South and North Oakland.
