Help return the State Police aviation unit to the Williamsport Regional Airport!

Feb. 3 – At a time when we are working to make Pennsylvania a leader in the field of aviation and create family-sustaining jobs, the Pennsylvania State Police has moved its Aviation Unit IV from the Williamsport Regional Airport to the Hazleton Municipal Airport.

The Unit serves all of Lycoming, Bradford, Cameron, Clinton, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Snyder, Sullivan and Tioga counties and has been in operation at the Williamsport Regional Airport for more than 40 years.

We live in a 7,630-square-mile mostly-rural area with a population of 491,000 people. I believe the mountainous terrain of the service area makes aerial support a necessity in order to ensure efficient and effective response to all emergencies, especially like those we saw in last fall's floods.

I have posted a petition on my website and ask that you sign in support of the operation of the Pennsylvania State Police Aviation Patrol Unit IV at the Williamsport Regional Airport and its services to Lycoming County and the surrounding areas.
