Congratulations to Rose Anne Bragalone of Duboistown

Dec. 5 – Today I had the privilege to present Pennsylvania's 31st annual Favorite Homecoming Queen to Rose Anne Bragalone of Duboistown on the floor of the state House.

We meet hundreds of remarkable young people on the floor of the House every year – they are recognized for an achievement of some sort – academic, athletic, or community involvement.

On March 27, Rose Anne Bragalone of Duboistown was named the winner of Pennsylvania's 31st Annual Favorite Homecoming Queen Competition held in Lancaster.

As a senior last year at South Williamsport High School, Miss Bragalone served as the co-captain of the cheerleading squad, a member of the yearbook staff, vice president of the Leo Club, secretary of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, and she was a member of the 2010 South Williamsport Mummers Parade Court.

Last October Miss Bragalone was crowned the high school's homecoming queen. She was encouraged to participate in the distinguished statewide event. She represented Lycoming County and captured the coveted title.

Miss Bragalone credits the source of her strength and determination to the overwhelming support of her family (click here to see photo), including her parents, Gemma and Dominick Bragalone, and her community, and she credits her grandmother, Mrs. Rose Campana, as her biggest supporter throughout the competition, which consisted of a series of judged events, including a runway challenge, etiquette evaluations, behavior and social skills, leadership qualities and Pennsylvania state knowledge.

In addition to the distinguished title, Miss Bragalone is the recipient of a cash scholarship, which she will put to good use at Millersville University in her studies majoring in mathematics and elementary and secondary special education.

Please join me in congratulating Miss Bragalone.
