PennDOT to offer summer job opportunities to college students
HARRISBURG, Jan. 18 – State Rep. Eugene DePasquale, D-York, said college students can apply online for PennDOT summer jobs.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will be hiring college students for a summer job program that runs from May to August.
"I encourage local students to take advantage of this opportunity for a summer job now," DePasquale said. "Employment is a great way for college students to learn additional responsibility for the real world, no matter what the position."
The hourly rate for the jobs, which are primarily labor at worksites along highways and at maintenance operations, is $11.43 per hour. Applicants must be enrolled for fall 2012 courses in any major.
DePasquale said candidates must apply online at www.employment.pa.gov under the student summer employment positions category. All applications must be received by the close of business March 2.
