DePasquale: Rendell to stop in York on Economic Stimulus Tour

HARRISBURG, Aug. 7 – State Rep. Eugene DePasquale, D-York, today announced that Gov. Ed Rendell will visit the city of York this Friday as a part of his five-day, 16-stop bus tour announcing more than $19 billion in new investments throughout Pennsylvania.

Funding to affect York includes grants for York College of Engineering and the Early Learning Center at Crispus Attucks.

At 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, Rendell will visit Komax Systems, 120 North St., York, for a news conference.

"The governor's tour is highlighting public and private community investments that were a part of our capital budget," DePasquale said. "These exciting initiatives will create jobs and stimulate the local community."

DePasquale said the funding for Crispus Attucks will help the school provide quality education for the children of working, low-income women.

The funding for York College advances the future employment of its students and helps retain local talent.

"As the region grows, York College attracts many York County high school graduates to its campus," DePasquale said. "This additional funding ensures that our local students are getting the top education they can."
