Majority Policy Committee, DePasquale to host public hearing in York on economic development and job creation
YORK, Jan. 12 – House Majority Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, said today that the committee will be holding a public hearing on economic development in third-class cities and job creation at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14 at the Sovereign Bank Stadium in the White Rose Room, 5 Brooks Robinson Way in York.
State Rep. Eugene DePasquale, D-York, requested the hearing and will serve as co-chair. The current agenda for the hearing is:
· 10 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks from Sturla and DePasquale
· 10:10 a.m. – Panel one: Kim Bracey, mayor of York; Felicia Dell, director of the York County Planning Commission; and Darrell Auterson, president and CEO of the York County Economic Development Corp.
· 10:50 a.m. – Panel two: Thomas McMahon, mayor of Reading and second vice president of the Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities; Rick Gray, mayor of Lancaster; and Linda Thompson, mayor of Harrisburg.
· 11:30 a.m. – Panel three: Tom Donley, president of the York County Chamber of Commerce; Eric Menzer, senior vice president of Wagman Construction; and Ed Wilson, acting president and CEO of 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania.
· 12:10 p.m. – Closing remarks
