Majority Policy Committee to hold hearing on the environmental impact of

buffers on waterways on Monday in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, March 3 – Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the House Majority Policy Committee will hold a public hearing to explore the environmental impact of buffers on waterways from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 8 in Room 140 of the Main Capitol in Harrisburg.

State Rep. Barb McIlvaine Smith, D-Chester, requested the hearing. The current agenda is:

• 10 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks from Sturla and McIlvaine Smith
• 10:10 a.m. – Bernard Sweeney, director, Stroud Water Research Center
• 10:30 a.m. – Grant Gulibon, regulatory specialist, Pennsylvania Builders Association
• 10:50 a.m. – Marel Raub, Pennsylvania director, Chesapeake Bay Commission
• 11:10 p.m. – David Wise, Pennsylvania Watershed Restoration manager, Chesapeake Bay Foundation
• 11:30 a.m. - Closing remarks
