Democratic Policy Committee to hold public hearing
on health care issues Wednesday in Erie
HARRISBURG, March 14 – House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the committee will hold a public hearing about pending health care issues in Pennsylvania from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 16 at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, Room 112, 301 Peninsula Drive, Erie.
The hearing will focus on Gov. Tom Corbett’s recent termination of adultBasic and state legislative efforts to prevent federal health care reform from occurring in Pennsylvania. State Rep. Patrick Harkins, D-Erie, will co-chair the hearing.
The current hearing agenda is:
- 3 p.m. – Welcome and opening remarks
- 3:10 p.m. – Kim Patterson, secretary-treasurer, SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania
- 3:40 p.m. – Erin Gill, Western PA Education and Implementation coordinator, Pennsylvania Health Access Network
- 4:10 p.m. – Donna Burkhart, board director, United Methodist Advocacy in Pennsylvania
- 4:40 p.m. – Closing remarks
The hearing is open to the public and media coverage is invited.
