Majority Policy Committee to hold public hearing at Capitol Tuesday on jobs and the economy

 

HARRISBURG, April 9 – Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the House Majority Policy Committee will hold a public hearing on jobs and the economy from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 14 in the House Majority Caucus Room, 140 Main Capitol Building.

 

The hearing will be co-chaired by state Rep. Peter J. Daley, D-Washington/Fayette, who serves as the chairman of the House Commerce Committee. Various statewide policy groups will present testimony about the state budget, job creation and the status of Pennsylvania’s economy.

 

The current hearing agenda is:

·         10 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks by Sturla and Daley

·         10:10 a.m. – Panel from the Keystone Research Center: Stephen Herzenberg, executive director; and Mark Price, labor economist

·         10:30 a.m. – Sharon Ward, executive director, Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center

·         10:50 a.m. – Matthew Brouillette, president/CEO, Commonwealth Foundation for Public Policy Alternatives

·         11:10 a.m. – Rich Stein, research director, Economy League of Greater Philadelphia

·         11:30 a.m. – Closing remarks
