Majority Policy Committee to hold public hearing in Philadelphia Friday
on single payer health-care system
HARRISBURG, April 14 – Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the House Majority Policy Committee will hold a public hearing on a single payer health-care system from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Friday, April 17 at the University of Pennsylvania’s McNeil Center for Early American Studies, First Floor, Stephanie Grauman Wolf Room, 3355 Woodland Walk, Philadelphia.
The current hearing agenda is:
· 10 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks by Sturla
· 10:05 a.m. – Walter Tsou, M.D., former Philadelphia Health Commissioner
· 10:20 a.m. – Chuck Pennacchio, executive director, HealthCare4ALLPA
· 10:35 a.m. – Sam Marshall, president and CEO, Pennsylvania Insurance Federation
· 10:50 a.m. – Patricia Eakin, president, Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses & Allied Professionals
· 11:05 a.m. – representative from the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO
· 11:20 a.m. – Scott Crane, chairman, Pennsylvania Association of Health Underwriters Legislative Committee
· 11:35 a.m. – William McCool, director, Midwifery Graduate Program, University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing
· 11:50 a.m. – Lindsay Kaldor, student, Temple University School of Medicine
