Democratic Policy Committee to hold public hearing
on higher education funding Tuesday in Philadelphia
HARRISBURG, April 18 – House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, today announced that the committee will hold a public hearing to examine the impact of proposed cuts to higher education in Pennsylvania from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 19 at Temple University's President's Conference Suite, 1810 Liacouras Walk, Philadelphia.
State Rep. Jim Roebuck, D-Phila., Democratic chairman of the House Education Committee will co-host the hearing. The current hearing agenda is:
- 2 p.m. – Welcome and opening remarks
- 2:10 p.m. – Anthony Wagner, executive vice president, CFO and treasurer, Temple University
- 2:40 p.m. – Dr. Steve Hicks, president, Association of PA State College and University Faculties
- 3:10 p.m. – Dr. Stephen Curtis, president, Community College of Philadelphia
- 3:40 p.m. – Closing remarks
The hearing is open to the public and media coverage is invited.
