Democratic Policy Committee to hold public hearing
on school vouchers Wednesday in Chester
HARRISBURG, April 19 – House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the committee will hold a public hearing on school vouchers from 10 a.m. to
1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 20 at the Chester Fine Arts Center East, 17 E. 7th St., Chester.
State Rep. Thaddeus Kirkland, D-Chester, who requested the hearing, will serve as its co-chair. The current hearing agenda is:
Ø Charles Warren, first vice president, Chester Branch NAACP
Ø Rev. James Ley, member, Chester Branch NAACP
Ø Pat Worrell, president, Action United
Ø Andy Hoover, legislative director, ACLU of PA
Ø Susan Gobreski, executive director, Education Voters of PA
Ø Lora Lavin, vice president of issues and action, League of Woman Voters of PA
Ø Otto Banks, executive director, REACH Alliance and Foundation
Ø Sean McAleer, director of education, PA Catholic Conference
Ø Dr. Steve Dill, head of school, DeLaware County Christian School
