Democratic Policy Committee to hold public hearing
on impact of state budget cuts Monday in Williamsport
HARRISBURG, July 7 – House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, today announced that the committee will hold a public hearing on the impact of the cuts contained in the 2011-2012 state budget from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 11 at Lycoming College's Mary Welch Theatre, 700 College Place, Williamsport.
State Rep. Rick Mirabito, D-Lycoming, requested the hearing and will serve as co-chair.
The current hearing agenda is:
- 1 p.m. – Welcome and opening remarks
- 1:10 p.m. – Robert Grantier, superintendent, Loyalsock Township School District
- 1:40 p.m. – Charlie Santangelo, chief financial officer, Susquehanna Health Systems
- 2:10 p.m. – Renee Sluzalis, executive director, Center for Independent Living
- 2:40 p.m. – Public comments
- 3:30 p.m. – Closing remarks
The hearing is open to the public and media coverage is invited.
