Southeastern Pennsylvania lawmaker Rep. Matthew Bradford, D-Montgomery, requested the hearing and served as its co-chairman.

"As our state and national economies recover there has been an added emphasis on implementing clean energy strategies," Sturla said. "Representative Bradford has been a leader in shaping the future of Pennsylvania's energy policy and I applaud his foresight and thank him for bringing the Policy Committee to Worcester to examine these policies more closely."

Bradford added, "Alternative Energy is not only necessary to ensure a cleaner environment, the technologies being utilized present us an opportunity to create the green jobs of the future. Today’s hearing is an important step in implementing policies in Pennsylvania to make that a reality."
