Majority Policy Committee, Samuelson to hold hearing Wednesday

in Bethlehem on public library funding

HARRISBURG, Aug. 9 – Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the House Majority Policy Committee will hold a public hearing to examine public library funding in the Commonwealth from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11 at Moravian College's Prosser Auditorium, 1200 Main St., Bethlehem.

State Rep. Steve Samuelson, D-Lehigh/Northampton, requested the hearing and will serve as its co-chairman. The current agenda is:

· 3 p.m. – Welcome and opening remarks

· 3:10 p.m. – Glenn Miller, executive director, Pennsylvania Library Association

· 3:30 p.m. – Renee Haines, director, Allentown Public Library

· 3:50 p.m. –  Panel from Bethlehem Area Public Library
