Majority Policy Committee, Seip to hold public hearing
on human services Thursday in Pottsville
HARRISBURG, Aug. 10 – Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the House Majority Policy Committee will hold a public hearing on human services in Pennsylvania from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12 at the Luther Ridge Assisted Living Facility,160 Red Horse Road, Pottsville.
The hearing was requested by state Rep. Tim Seip, D-Berks/Schuylkill. Seip will serve as hearing co-chairman and the current agenda is:
- 10 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks
- 10:10 a.m. – Panel from Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare
Ø Linda Blanchette, deputy secretary for income maintenance
Ø Sherry Snyder, deputy secretary for mental health and substance abuse services
- 10:30 a.m. – Gene Quaglia, co-chairman of County Assistance Office Statewide Committee, SEIU Local 668
- 10:50 a.m. – Jonathan Dove, case management coordinator, Schuylkill Community Action
- 11:10 a.m. – Frank Selgrade, human services consumer
- 11:30 a.m. – Closing remarks
